The Sport Ladder is for players of all skill levels to participate in
the National Contest and test their skill against an increasingly difficult
series of tricks. Players compete in both the String Trick and Looping
Trick ladders for a combined score in two styles of play.
The String Trick or 1S ladder challenges players to
use a long spinning string trick style yo-yo. The String Trick ladder
starts out with some of the historically familiar tricks (like sleeper
and rock the baby) and then progressively challenges players to perform
modern style tricks with combinations of elements that take advantage
of todays low-resistance long-spinning bal-bearing yo-yos.
The Looping Trick or 2S ladder tests players skill using a more traditional
looping style yo-yo. While this ladder also starts out with some historically
familiar tricks (like loop the loop and around the world), the tricks
progress into two-handed looping tricks that require great dexterity
and the ability to coordinate two yo-yos at the same time.
The Sport Ladder is open to all players not competing in a Championship
division.
