2000 Trick ListsNational YoYo Masters A Good Sport Always Wins! For More Information: National YoYo Contest Director |
Welcome to the 2000 National YoYo Contest This year you will find the
trick list familiar, and a little different. We feel the need to push
forward the tricks tested in this contest, yet also maintain a historic
root to all past National Contests. Technology can not be undone, we now use YoYos that were unimaginable a decade ago. Creative new ideas have been unleashed and contests tricks needed to keep pace. The sport is growing up, as more people than ever before are playing in contests. The sorting of player ability has become more complex. All this has brought about changes. This year the National A division has all sleeping/string tricks. Granted players should know looping tricks. But we feel the new rim-weighted ball-bearing yoyos, and the myriad of new tricks that they have spawned, should be tested in a contest. This is the opportunity to introduce players to more difficult tricks without the equipment being a contest handicap. The single A trick list has the most familiar of the new tricks coupled with enhanced classics. All the tricks are tough but possible. The inspiration for this list came from the tricks many players incorporate into their freestyle performances. The National AA division was
toughen up too, due to the very high scores in past contests. We are lifting
the bar with higher repetitions and added transitions. Again, the inspiration
was the tricks players incorporate into their freestyles. We want all players to have fun and practice the discipline needed to excel in their goals. I hope you like what we've done. -Bob
