Purchasing Tickets for the Awards Dinner in advance is advised. You may do this online through Bird in Hand. The 2003 National Yo-Yo Contest Awards Dinner will be held at Manzanita Place in Chico, CA. The Awards Dinner is where we have the opportunity to recognize the leaders of the yo-yo industry and those who have given to the yo-yo community in a significant manner. Industry Awards include: The Holiday Inn Best Junior Player Award is presented to the highest scoring player aged 12 or younger in the Championship divisions. The Most Inspirational Player Award is conferred on an individual the judges choose as an inspiration to other players at the contest. The D.F. Duncan Family Award for Industry Excellence is awarded to an individual for quality innovation, production, and/or promotion that advances the sport. The Mark Sittion Sportsmanship Award is bestowed upon the person who demonstrates the best in sportsmanship and helps others learn these qualities. The Trick Innovator of the Year Award is given to an important creative developer of influential new yo-yo tricks. The National Acheivment Award is bestowed on the person who successfully improves the sport, and positively influences how the industry develops. |
