The 2006 National
Yo-Yo Contest 2006 Championship Titles will be awarded in five divisions: 1A: One long-spin yo-yo
performing string tricks. Preregistration, by October 2nd, is mandatory for all players who plan to compete in a Championship division, including seeded players. Players may enter more than one of the Championship divisions. At this time, preliminary qualifying for all championship divisions will be held on Saturday morning. To register, check the Registration Information page. In all Championship divisions there will be a 1-minute freestyle preliminary made up of tricks of the players choice, that will advance the best judged players to the finals in each division. For more information see the Freestyle Judging and General Rules pages. National Yo-Yo League Regional 1A Champions do not compete in the preliminary round as they are seeded directly into the finals. Championship finals consist of a 3-minute freestyle routine made up of tricks of the players choice. Players choosing the Ladder Division will be challenged with over fifty compulsory tricks. In this variation of a traditional contest, a player works his or her way up an increasingly difficult ladder of tricks. This is the fifth year of the National Yo-Yo League. Winners of the 1A division from each of the Regional Contests receive in addition to a finals seeding, two nights lodging courtesy of the Holiday Inn Chico for the nights of October 6 & 7. The 2006 National Spin-Top Contest will be held concurrently and will crown the a National Spin-Top Champion. You can support the contest by reserving tickets for the Saturday Night Awards Dinner. Help us recognize the individuals who have contributed significantly to the yo-yo community. There is always a good meal and plenty of time to celebrate the winners of the day. There will also be AYYA world-record challenges. Your paid dinner reservation allows us to make contest participation free for everyone. |
