All tricks must be done exactly as described and show in the video. All tricks must end with a spinner for 5 seconds either in hand or as directed by instructions.

The trick list consists of 10 tricks, 5 tricks done with a fixed tip top and 5 tricks done with a bearing tip top. Players get two attempts at each trick.

Points will be determined as follows:

5 points for each trick completed on first try.
3 points for each trick completed on second try.

Tie Breakers:

Double reps of Roller Coaster, then Drumbeat, and then Bermuda Triangle and double reps again until ties are broken.

2. Roller Coaster to String (15 reps)
3. Whip Catch
4. Drumbeat (15 reps)
5. One Hand Lasso from Boomerang

One Hand Lasso
Throw Boomerang, but before catching with hand, catch top with string, using a horizontal swiping motion, catching top on segment of string between thumb and a finger of throwing hand. Return to hand.

Done with bearing tip top:
1. Bermuda Triangle (5 reps)
2. Split the Atom
3. Corkscrew to Gyroscopic Flop
4. Upside Down Merry-Go-Round
5. One Hand Trapeze

Bermuda Triangle
Throw Boomerang, do Merry Go Round, when one full wrap is around tip, insert pointer finger from free hand, and rotate top around it, forming triangle with string, do 5 rotations. Return to hand.

Split the Atom

Corkscrew to Gyroscopic Flop
Throw Boomerang, make one wrap around tip. Wrap string around forearm 3 times, raise arm vertical, and swing top, to follow string and orbit arm 3 times, bind top in center of string, pull string tight so that top makes one full rotation around string. Return to hand.

Upside Down Merry-Go-Round
Throw Trapeze. Allow top to precess until it is spinning tip up, and do 5 reps of Merry Go Round. Correct and return to hand.

One Hand Trapeze
Throw Trapeze, catching top on segment of string between thumb and a finger of throwing hand. Correct, and return to hand.

Championship Division Freestyle Format

All finalists will be on stage arranged by compulsory score lowest to highest. Each player will throw, in rotation, a freestyle lasting one minute maximum. There will be three throws total by each player. The first rotation will be with a fixed tip top. The second rotation will be with a bearing tip top. The third rotation will be players choice. During a players turn all other players may cheer for that player but may not be a distraction and may not throw. They should have their top wound and ready for their turn. A dropped top can be brought back into play if still spinning.

Freestyle Judging

Points are given for each completed trick (the first time it is done) with bonus points for difficulty and originality. Points for each different regeneration trick are given for the first five reps. Tricks done after five regenerations (with fixed point) should automatically get a difficulty bonus. There will be bonus points awarded for continuos play. If a top is dropped and still spinning and returned to play with the string or a big scoop the freestyle continues but the continuous play clock stops. Bonus points for continuous play are as follows: 30 seconds of continuous play receives 5 bonus points, 40 seconds gets another 5 points, 50 seconds another 5 points and 60 seconds receives an additional 10 points. In other words, continuous tricking for the full minute garners 25 additional points. There will be a separate timekeeper counting these time points. There are no deducts. Dropping the top creates its own penalty.
